Easter 2012

Happy Easter! Our weekend was jam packed with activites, and I didn't think we were going to survive. Saturday we went to Randy's parents house for the day and Aubrey did her very first Easter egg hunt. She was so cute walking around picking up the eggs. She got the cutest Mickey Mouse which is just as tall as she is, and boy is she attached to that sucker. Aubrey was carrying him around and wouldn't let anyone touch, take or even look at it.  Sunday after church they do an egg hunt in between the church services and Aubrey got a few more eggs, she is really starting to get the idea of putting them in her basket. Then after church we had such a wonderful day with friends and family yesterday I don't think I could have asked for a better Holiday. An to top off a great day it was actually SUNNY, I mean I had to put sun screen on Aubrey so she wouldn't get burned because it was that warm here. Instead of doing a typical dinner we decided to do a BBQ with our new neighbors and had a HUGE Easter egg hunt (over 150 eggs for six kids). Aubrey had such a fun time playing with all the big kids and looking for eggs, At first she started to look for them by herself but then wouldn't let go of daddy's hand. So Randy had to walk Aubrey around to find her eggs. I now can't wait for next Easter when Aubrey can enjoy it even more.

Aubrey is 15 months old!

On the 9th of this month Aubrey turned 15 months old. I can hardly believe she is this old, my oh my how time has flown by. Aubrey did great at her pediatrician appointment, we found out she weighs 22 lbs and is 30 inches tall which puts her at the 50th percentile. She is getting to be such a big girl and is becoming very independent. Not only is Aubrey walking but now she is trying to run, loves playing outside, loves following her cousins around, climbing stairs and getting into the Kitchen cub boards. As far as food goes around here she still loves everything. Aubrey even has a special treat everyday when Opa (my dad) gets home from work. She immediately runs up to him and checks in his shirt pocket everyday to see if her treat is there. An ofcourse she always gets 2 m&ms from Opa. The only down fall to this is when he comes home for lunch Aubrey does the same thing and yet doesn't find anything. Everyday is a new adventure for her and what she discovers is so amazing. Aubrey no longer wants to be in the stroller or cart when we are out and about.

Valentine's Day and Play Dates

Recently we had to say goodbye to some wonderful friends The Pankratz family for a few years due to the Army life. Thankfully we will see them soon this summer and we will be flying to California for New Years. While the movers were packing up their house we got to spend some quaility time with Emmalyn, Aubrey's bff.
They love each other so much they were in the middle of a hug when I snapped the photo.
Both girls playing together in Aubrey's room. We miss you guys bunches and can't wait to see you again.
Also during this time it was Valentine's Day and I was able to snap a few photo's of Aubrey on this special day. Not only was it a special day of Love but it was also my parent's anniversary of 34 years.

Aubrey loves to shop

While in Costco the other day with my mom, Aubrey decided she didn't want to be in the cart but would rather push it instead.

Birthday Party

The Saturday after Aubrey's birthday we had her birthday party. It was a great time spent with family and friends, and surprisingly Aubrey did really well. She took a great morning nap so I knew she would be full of fun and joy at her party. At first whenever someone new would walk through the door she started to cry, but by the time the third and fourth guests arrived she was over it and was enjoying everyone giving her special attention. We didn't plan anything super big but everyone I invited showed up so we had about 35 people in attendance. Everyone got to eat and enjoy conversations for a bit before we started to get into the presents and then the cake. The theme for the party was a Jungle one but mainly focused on Giraffes so I made a Giraffe cupcake cake and then a little smash cake for Aubrey. The Giraffe cupcakes turned out pretty good and everyone seemed to like it. During present time Aubrey did great until I took what she got away so we could open a new gift. She cried and cried until she saw a new toy or whatever it was that she received.
This is our pink Giraffe made out of cupcakes, and on the top right is Aubrey's smash cake
Aubrey sitting in her rocking chair looking at everyone around her
Ladybug pillow pet that Connie and Bruce got her. She loves this thing
A fun noisy discovery house
A beautiful rocking horse that Oma and Opa gave her (as soon as I put her on it she started rocking)
Her princess car that Randy and I got her
Singing happy birthday (notice the Jungle Animals behind her)
Tasting the frosting
Thinking about it
All done! This was as messy as our child got. She was not a huge fan of everyone staring at her while she ate her cake.

Aubrey turned 1!!!!

On December 9th our little girl Aubrey turned 1!!! It was such a great day, but sad at the same time. I took Aubrey in for her 12 month check up and she had to get 4 shots. :( I must be the worse mommy in the world to make their child get shots on their birthday. She did really good and was treated her with some m&ms to make her feel better. Dr. Sipher even gave her a new birthday book for coming in and getting shots on this day. Aubrey weighs 20 lbs 10 ounces and is 29.25 inches tall. Everything is looking good and Aubrey is on a great track. We just have to kick the bottle which seems to be harder than we thought. I am going to give it another week or two and then just cut her cold turkey.
After we left the doctor Aubrey and I had a fun day. We went to visit Oma at work and then spent the day shopping. Aubrey got a new toy from Target with some birthday money she received in the mail. We then went to Applebee's for lunch where we ordered Aubrey her very first kids meal!!! She ate most of her lunch minus some fries (they give you so many). We rounded out the day by visiting one of my good friends April at her work. To finish her night off right Oma made Aubrey's favorite dinner Lasagna! Man can that girl eat, she had at least 2 of her bowls full with food and probably could have still eatin had I not cut her off.
Today I am 1!!!
