Aubrey is one month!

Well it has already been a whole month since little Aubrey was born. We have had some great times and some not so great times, but I wouldn't change anything. We started off a little rough due to the fact that Aubrey wouldn't latch on to breast feed, so she wasn't gaining any weight. We met with a lactation specialist several times and after talking with her pediatrician we learned that she has a high palate. I now get to pump several times throughout the day and we bottle feed her which has become a lot easier. Randy is also able to feed her so he gets that special bonding time with her, and lucky for me he does the feedings during the middle of the night while I pump.

With us bottle feeding her, she was able to start gaining weight which is what we needed. She now weighs 8 pounds and 2 oz which is a whole pound more than her birth weight. Aubrey has come down with a small case of thrush but is on antibiotics to take care of it. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it so that makes us happy. She often doesn't sleep during the day, she likes to be awake so she doesn't miss anything. As for Randy and I we would like to take a nap but it rarely happens. When she does choose to sleep it is usually between 3-4 hours at a time. Although, during the night it's another story for us. For the most part it is between 2-3 hours but we have had a few of though nights where she will only sleep for 1-2 hours.

It is amazing to see how much she has changed since we brought her home. She makes funny faces, smiles at us and what really gets us, is all the noises she makes. She really likes to grunt especially when she is sleeping. Aubrey definitely has her own personality, and is just such a happy baby. Both Randy and I look forward to the many more months and years to come that we can share with this little girl. Here are a few pictures from Christmas and her first month.

Aubrey Rose has arrived!

I went into the hospital last Wednesday night to start my induction. The first thing they did was put a miso pill in my cervics to get it soften, it lasted about four hours before they had to do another one. After I got me second one done an hour into it baby Aubrey went into fetal distress. They lost her heart rate for about 60 seconds which I didn't know what was going on at the time but 3 other nurses came rushing into my room and put an oxygen mask on me and starting flipping me like bacon so they could get her heart rate again. After the minute they were able to find it and everything was okay.

Throughout the rest of the night Aubrey would go into fetal distress but for only 10 or 15 seconds and then it would go back to normal. Around 6 am I got up to use the bathroom and my nurse was getting ready to start my piticon when Aubrey went into fetal destress yet again but for four and half minutes this time. So again all these nurses came running into my room putting the oxygen on me, flipping me like bacon and they even put leads on my to check for her. They had to call the on-call doctor and the in-house doctor to come and check on me. Hubby and I were really scared at this point because 4 and half minutes is a long time to not find a baby's heart rate. Once they picked it up a huge sigh of relief came over me but I knew there was a chance it could happen again.

So around 7:30 am my doctor came and checked on me I was still at 1cm and we discussed our options of what to do. I waited until my mom got to the hospital to tell her and between her, hubby and I we decided I needed to get a c-section because we didn't know if Aubrey would go into fetal distress again or if we were clear of all that. So at 1 pm I was taken back for my c-section and at 1:34 pm little miss Aubrey was born weighing 7 lbs 2 oz and was 20.5 inches long. To add to an even more exciting story when my doctor pulled her our she was butt first, little did we know this whole time she was breech. So even if I had tried or continued to do a vaginal birth I was going to have a c-section anyways.

Everything worked out great and both Aubrey and I are doing well. We came home yesterday (sunday the 12th) and it has been the most wonderful experience I have ever had. I am so glad she is here and both hubby and I cherrish each and every day with her. Here are a few pictures of our little family.

40 weeks and we have an induction scheduled!!

Oh boy has this past week been an eventful one. First off Saturday Randy and I had to venture to the hospital to get a stress test done because little miss Aubrey hadn't moved in over a day. While I was hooked up to the monitor for the first 15 minutes she wasn't moving and the on call doctor was a bit nervous. Then for some reason she decided she was going to show off and was moving like crazy. Both the nurse and the doctor kept asking me if I was having any contractions and I couldn't understand why. I kept telling them no and to my surprise the doctor told me I was having them I just couldn't feel them. Thankfully everything turned out okay and they sent me home a little over an hour after we got there.

Yesterday I had my 40 week check up, and some things were good and others not so much. For the first time during my pregnancy my blood pressure was high and the doctor asked if I had felt her move much that day and sadly I hadn't so they had to do another stress test... The doctor then again checked to see if I had started to dilate and I was still at a zero, so what does she do you ask? Well she forced her way through and I am now dilated 1 cm!!

Once they got me hooked up to the monitor I had to drink really ice cold water and eat some crackers, in hopes of waking the baby up. Nope, she is like her momma and loves her sleep so the nurse had to buzz my stomach which got her up right away. She was not a happy camper by all means. After almost an hour of monitoring her they finally let me leave.

The doctor told me we were going to induce labor and the nurse would call today to tell me the day an time. So this afternoon I got the phone call that Randy and I will be checking into the hospital Wednesday night and starting the induction Thursday morning! So this time next week I will be holding my little bundle of joy, Randy and I couldn't be any happier. I am just so excited that the time has finally come and can't wait to meet this little princess!!

39 weeks and still no baby Aubrey yet....

Had my 39 week check up yesterday and everything is looking good. For some reason Aubrey measured at 36 weeks but the doctor thinks it's because she has dropped so much. Her heart rate was 140 bpm and still going strong. I still have not started to dialate and the doctor wont induce me until I have started. I am hoping she will come out this weekend or right around my due date, or at least by my next appointment I will have started to dialate and can get induced.

Happy Birthday to me, im 38 weeks!

So today is my 24th birthday and I am also 38 weeks along. I had a wonderful birthday and I got to spend the entire day with Randy. Not only did he make me chocolate chip waffles for breakfast he made me a fabulous dinner. Not to mention the presents he got me were super spectacular (new coach shoes, yoga pants and a new penguin coffee mug). We decided to go an walk around the mall and other stores to try and jump start this labor, the only thing that could make my birthday better would be for Aubrey to come out and see us!

Enough about that, yesterday I had my 38 week appointment and everything is still going well. Aubrey's heart rate was 135 bpm and she is still measuring right on track. Still no change with the dilation and that's okay. She has definitely dropped down, but she apparently isn't ready for this crazy big world. I'm getting a bit restless over here, because she moves like crazy and I keep telling her if she is going to move this much she should just come out already.

There really isn't any more room in there.

37 weeks and im getting anxious!

Went to the doctors today for my 37 week check up, and everything is looking good. Aubrey is still measuring well and her heart rate was 148 bpm. Sadly I have not started to dialate which I was kind of hoping to, but that's okay too. I just think she is really happy and content in my belly and doesn't want to come out yet. However, I thought that her movements would have slowed down by now because there isn't much room for her to move around, but to my surprise she moves non stop now. My belly now does the way and along with it I get those lovely kicks to the ribs and other parts of my tummy.

On another note, Randy and I went to the Usher concert last night and it was such a blast. At first I was a bit nervous that my water might break or I would go into labor but none of that happened and we got to enjoy the whole conert! Aubrey seemed to enjoy the concert as well because she was moving and kicking like crazy throughout the night. If there was a song that she didn't like she wouldn't move as much or move at all, but if it was a song that she liked she went crazy. It was so hilarious to feel and watch during the concert. 36 weeks and Aubrey's room is completely done!

Last weekend Randy and I finished Aubrey's room. Put everything together, washed everything and put it all away. Here are a few pictures of what her room looks like now that it is complete.

My belly is getting huge, I don't know if you can tell but the baby made my belly all crooked because she was on one side and not in the center.

Had my first weekly appointment yesterday and everything went well. I measured at 34 and a half weeks which seems small to me but the doctor says its perfect. Her heart rate was at 153 which is kind of funny because I had my appointment mid morning which is when she is most active compared to late afternoon when she sleeps (normally those ones are lower). I also got checked to see if I was starting to dilate but nothing so far, so maybe I will have progressed by next Thursday when I go in. Other than that I have had a pretty good week, my hands and feet are swollen like no other but I just keep telling myself only 4 more weeks and it will go down.
